Spotlight: EOF Treasury Challenge Winner

Congratulations to the EOF team treasury challenge WINNER:

This week's inspiration item is:

http://www.etsy.com/listing/75336206/silver-choker-vintage-crystal-pendant
We asked our featured team winner a few questions about the inspiration item chosen and her shop. Enjoy!

EOF team: What is the theme for this week?
MirroredSkyCreations: With Imagination, Anything Is Possible

EOF: Why have you chosen this theme?
MSC: I absolutely love imagination! Just to think that anything you imagine can become real, is mind-blowing. I have a crazy and wild imagination and slowly but surely it's coming out in my creations...it's sometimes difficult because you are literally allowing others into your head and heart, and that can be a bit scary, not just for me, but for others as well!

EOF: Which item from your shop have you chosen?
MSC: This item has had several name changes....perhaps I should just give it a symbol and call it "The Necklace Formerly Known As...." - right now it's named "Ozzy's Choker Chandelier" - yes, as in Ozzy Osbourne!

EOF: Please tell us why you chose this item:
MSC: I chose this item as it's one of the first pieces I made and just love it! It's crazy, cool, absolutely unique and one of a kind and totally imaginative and 'out there'.

EOF: What was your inspiration when creating this item?
MSC: I am a total rocker chic at heart... love fairytales and fantasy...and I tried to merge the two worlds...I can totally see a Rocker Princess rocking this out... I do have a disclaimer on it as I don't want to be sued for any broken teeth or nose should heavy head banging occur while wearing it....seriously.

EOF: Tell us a little about your shop/you:
MSC: Mirrored Sky is still in it's infancy stage. I began with jewelry designing January of this year. I have always loved all sorts of art, designing, creating, writing etc. What was meant to be a venture (finally) into clothes designing, turned into making jewelry. I took an old piece of jewelry I had, combined it with some other pieces, and voila! A new love affair was born. I would like to eventually and very soon begin the other part of Mirrored Sky which will be clothes designing, which is something I have always loved to do even at the age of four when I made my first Barbie doll clothes. As long as I can continue to create, in whatever venue, then I will be a happy girl.
I am married to a wonderful man who encourages me daily to pursue and engage my creativity and he's my biggest fan and supporter. We have two beautiful and talented daughters and a rambunctious german shepherd.

EOF: What advice do you have for others about creating treasuries?
MSC: Just go for it. I love making treasuries for many many reasons. One, there is SO much awesome stuff on Etsy and this give you a chance for awesome discoveries. The imagination and talent is uber crazy! I will sometimes start with a certain theme in mind and then 3 or 4 themes later, I can sit back and smile. And I guess that's when I know it's done, it makes me smile. It would be awesome to land on the Front Page of Etsy but when making a treasury, that isn't always my goal... I'm trying to really showcase the artists and their items and share them with others.

EOF: Please let us know anything else you would like to share:
MSC: I am on Facebook at www.facebook.com/mirroredsky

Guidelines for all Treasury Challenges:

THE CHALLENGE - should you choose to accept it : )

Create a beautiful treasury around the week's inspiration theme and item. Be creative in title and tags and diverse in item selection.

The winner will :
Choose the following week's theme
Have one of their items featured in the next week's theme (TONS of treasuries will be created with and around your item!)
Shop promotion throughout the team, on this blog, Facebook, and Twitter.
Spot to guest judge in the following week's challenge.

Winning treasury will be chosen based on originality of items, title and tags, how well it represents theme and flows with the featured item.

Guidelines:
>>Each treasury created MUST have the inspiration item in it (does not have to be in the top spot just has to be one of the 16 items.)

>>All entries properly tagged with the two tags for that weeks challenge (TT teamchallenge# or EOF teamchallenge# & theme's title - this will be announced in the thread as well as on the blog).

>>No two items from the same shop

>>No items from your own shop

>>One entry per person

>>Please post entries in the designated challenge thread only - treasuries posted in other threads will not be counted. Also please only post TT team challenge treasuries in the thread - all non challenge treasuries will be deleted.

>>If an item has sold and you would like to change it or if you would like to edit your treasury if you forgot the inspo item or tags - you are able to repost your treasury explaining that items were sold, included tags, etc. The last submission will be the one judged. This still falls within the guidelines of only ONE treasury per person. PLEASE let us know if you have questions about EDITING treasuries.

>>Treasuries can be ALL team items, SOME team (including leaders and captain) or 15 non team items - just as long as the inspiration item is included in one of the 16 spots.

This week's theme will be announced: Friday
Submission deadline will be Wednesday Midnight.
Winner will be announced Thursday

Entries must include the following to be entered:

Each treasury created MUST have the inspiration item in it (does not have to be in the top spot just has to be one of the 16 items.)

Title and tags may be whatever you choose but the two tags for that weeks challenge MUST be included in your treasury's tags.

**PLEASE** Post your treasuries/entries in the designated thread, ONE treasury per person.

Submission deadline will be Monday midnight EST.

You do not have to have a shop; EVERYONE on the team is allowed to enter.

**It is not a requirement to click and comment in the treasuries above you (the person who leaves the most comments won't automatically win) however it's always recommended to show support to your fellow Etsians and their treasuries - you might even get an honorable mention (and maybe a chance to guest judge) for being the most active. : ).

EVERYONE VISITING THESE GUIDELINES PLEASE POST YOUR BLOG HERE : )

Spotlight: EOF team Treasury Challenge

Since this was our first week of holding treasury challenges for both the EOF team and the Top Treasury team, we didn't have "winners" to spotlight and pick the weekly theme.
We did however pick two amazing shops at random!
This is our first spotlight for the EOF team treasury challenge inspiration item and shop. Enjoy!

EOF team Treasury Challenge #1 9/21

Shop: BlueLucyStudios
Inspiration item:
Theme: This is Halloween

EOF team: Hi there! Please tell us a little about your shop:
BlueLucyStudios: Hi! I'm Brenna White from BlueLucy Studios. I am an artist working and living in the beautiful Pacific Northwest - Portland, Oregon to be exact. I love it here! I am in love with the fact that I live in a place where I have easy access to the mountains, the ocean, the desert, and the "big" city. Oregon is wonderful - don't let the rain stop you from visiting!
I have been working in the arts for about eleven years and have always been interested in pattern and color. When I start working on a painting - I work to squeeze in as much pattern as possible and load my brush so that I put down the brightest colors possible. You should be able to find a new detail every time you look at one of my paintings.

EOF: How did "5 Little Pumpkins" come about? What was your inspiration?
BLS:I am so honored to be the first artist to have their piece featured in a challenge and to be a judge for all of these amazing treasuries! So a little about my featured image - "5 Little Pumpkins". Well, first, I love Fall and Halloween! I love the oranges and purples, the dark starry skies, the candy, the kids, and just the magic that the season brings. I created "5 Little Pumpkins" from a wonderful childhood memory from my second grade music classroom. It is one of those memories that remains clear despite the amount time that has passed.
In Mrs. Ray's second grade music class we all stood around in a circle on the carpet and sang Halloween songs. Our favorite song of all was "The 5 Little Pumpkins". We would all stand in a circle, facing each other, and sing the words as we joyously played out all the hand motions. We would try to make "there are witches in the air" the spookiest line of all. But, when we got to the end and sang "...and the five little pumpkins rolled out of sight" we would all roll our hands so fast that we would collapse to the ground in giggle fits! I wanted to capture the fun and free feelings of those days as a kid. To illustrate exactly what I thought happened on Halloween night, long after we had eaten too much candy and gone to sleep with sore cheeks from laughing and sore feet from our trick or treat travels.

EOF: Is there any thing else you would like to share?
BLS: Thank you for allowing me to be a part of this great challenge. I have seen many, many fantastic treasuries so far and hope they keep coming!! Have a great time with your treasuries and Happy Halloween to everyone!
